Set in 1930s New Zealand, The End of the Golden Weather tells the story of 12-year-old Geoff Crome who is looking forward to an idyllic seaside summer in Takapuna. He makes friends with a strange character called Firpo. When Firpo reveals to Geoff his secret ambition of winning at the Olympic Games, Geoff does everything he can to help Firpo, including risking his father's disapproval and the ridicule of the local community.
It will be performed by actor Stephen Lovatt , well known to many television viewers as Max Hoyland on Australian soap, Neighbours .
Stephen, an ex-pat New Zealander, is returning to Auckland especially to take on the role – one that is particularly challenging as the play will be staged in the one-man format as originally performed by scriptwriter and actor Bruce Mason in the 1950s and 1960s.
Plan your evening, why not INVITE A FRIEND and take in a meal before the show at one of the many great restaurants around the vicinity, how about the Playhouse Pub and Brassiere 09 9792470. Then after the show, stay for a drink and meet Stephen Lovatt.
